WASP is alive an kicking

I'm quite excited to find out that WASP is alive and kicking.

I used WASP exclusively in the past years for my, my wife's, my courses' and my research group's web pages. I am quite happy with the level of complexity (or lack thereof) of WASP. I did mostly static page templating, but also quite some dynamic (sql-based) content, with heavy use of custom Python code.

I'm, thus, eager to see WASP-2.0 coming into existence. Thanks, Robin, for a great tool.

"Unlocking your cellphone is illegal, sir!"

Yes, I was served this infamous, cretinoid, stupid lie in a Fido shop today. This brainless clerk didn't even posess the ability to hide his "caught with pants down" expression on his face when I told him he's lieing.

If I had time to waste, and money to throw away, I would so like to sue their asses off this planet! Stupid profiteers.

Insure my car... wait! better tear all my teeth off

I went once again through the pains of insuring my car for the next year. I made the error of thinking I need to shop around. Boy is this hurting! I only called three insurance companies, but I got to spend more than one hour in total and the only thing I didn't get interogated about was the color of my briefs.

Do we ever realize we put ourselves through this ordeal just in order to make sure that the insurance company gets its maximized profit from our sheepish obedience to a broken socio-economic system?

stupid power of majority

I'm looking for a portable music player obeying to these 4 criteria:

- runs on AA or AAA batteries;
- has FM radio;
- costs less than 100$CAN for 2G of memory;
- plays Ogg-Vorbis.

While the first three criteria aren't so difficult, the fourth makes my search almost impossible to complete. What is it with this stupid industry standardizing on lesser technology and pushing everybody in the mold of (arguably falsified) majority?

yeah, who thought I would make a personal weblog one day?

I call it "ivory tower" because I guess I will gush in it (or perhaps procrastinate) about books I read, music I listen, nice things or people I like/learn about/envy. Let's the journey commence.
